Earth Abides by George R. Stewart

Set in California, this is a class "cozy catastrophe" where our immune hero, grad student Ish Williams, survives a pandemic and works to rebuild society. It's introspective and contemplates our place in this fragile, lovely world. If you aren't familiar with the cozy catastrophe, it's basically a trope where the survivors have seemingly endless supplies of goods that get them through the worst of it all. (Thinks like cars, gas, preserved food etc.) It's especially interesting to read books like this post-covid.
