Feeling crazy at the BBQ because you are the only person freaking out about the world literally on fire and the heat waves that never end? This is for you. Wilson makes the argument that the world as we know it is in collapse...basically, the rain has left the station, we can't save society as we know it in the first world. BUT...that collapse? It's actually a move towards simplicity, and away from endless growth....less tech, less stuff, more local, in person and analog experiences. I'm a child of the 70's, and I long for an simpler world that is dim in my memory, so there's hope, but for a transformed world that will be forced upon us as tech and growth and petroleum collapse.
The audible is great, read by the author in her Australian accent. I have a print copy on backorder because I will want to annotate this one.
