Cashier Small Talk at Trader Joe's

Some people seem to hate this, but I am always happier after chatting with the cashier at TJ's, or, anyplace really. In The Netherlands, they even set up "slow lanes" for lonely senior citizens who like to chat with the cashier.(link goes to the article) Chatting with the cashier is a small, daily civility that helps us stay connected and human.
